Graduation Ceremony

NOTE: All students, regardless of whether they attend a ceremony, must apply to graduate. Spring application deadline is May 4, 2026. 

Step-by-step instructions

Everything students and their guests need to know about attending the Omak campus graduation ceremony.

Caps, gowns, honor cords, and announcements

If you are participating in the Omak ceremony, you do not have to order a cap and gown through the graduation website. Caps and gowns are provided/loaned to students. Gowns can be picked up in the front administration office starting at noon on June 15 through June 18.

Honor Cords: If you are graduating with honors (a minimum of 3.5 GPA), you can pick up a gold honor cord for free to wear at graduation. Starting Wednesday, May 27, you may pick up your honor cord at the front administration office. Please bring a copy of your unofficial transcript to the front administration office that shows your GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Veterans: WVC would like to recognize and honor you for your service. Please come to the front administration office to receive your free silver honor cord.

Mandatory rehearsal

Any student participating in a graduation ceremony must attend the mandatory graduation rehearsa on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 3 p.m. at The Performing Arts Center, 20 S Cedar. Pizza will be provided. 

Arrival time and ceremony duration

Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center in Omak.

Graduates should arrive by 12 p.m.

A reception will follow the ceremony. (Diplomas will be mailed after graduation and typically are received within six to eight weeks after graduation.)

NOTE: Please remember that caps, gowns, tassels, honor cords, and veteran cords will NOT be available at the mandatory rehearsal or at the graduation ceremony. Remember to pick them up early!

Guests

With restricted seating capacity and fire codes at the Performing Arts Center, we respectfully request limiting the number of guests to no more than five people.

Accommodations

  • ASL interpreting will be provided at both ceremonies. Please check in with graduation staff on the day of the event to be seated close to the interpreter if needed.
  • Accessible seating for those using wheelchairs or those who have other mobility limitations will be provided for guests. Please have your guests ask when arriving to be shown to the accessible seating area.

Translation

Speeches and announcements at the graduation ceremony will be translated into Spanish by a live translator. Graduation materials, such as the program, will also include Spanish translations.
