About Washington MESA (WA MESA) and WVC MESA

The WA MESA Transfer Prep program works with students in their first two years of community college and focuses on supporting them with their transition into a post-secondary STEM career.

WVC MESA is one of the 12 Transfer Prep institutions across WA state, and it's defined as a relational, student-centered program that offers academic and non-academic support to underserved students in STEM who intend to transfer with their Wenatchee Valley College associate's degree to a four-year degree program.

Our vision and mission are defined by WA MESA statements:

• Washington MESA Mission: We empower underrepresented students by providing them a community that supports their pathways to higher education in STEM, through mentorships, academic programs, and interactive workshops.
• Washington MESA Vision: Diverse student populations in Washington state have the educational support and tools to create innovative solutions as they become the next leaders in STEM.
• Washington MESA Impact: Diverse student populations in Washington state to have the educational support to create innovative solutions to become the next leaders in STEM and earn a living wage when they enter the workforce and ultimately increase generational wealth.
  
  

WVC MESA Purposes

• Cultivate a strong sense of belonging within the WVC STEM community, fostering a supportive social network and an accountable growth mindset toward academic excellence.
• Build a foundation of leadership that will empower our students to transition from students to professional alumni who will, in turn, mentor and support future STEM generations within the greater Wenatchee Valley and North Central Washington communities.

Is WVC MESA a Good Fit For You?

• You must intend to transfer from Wenatchee Valley College in pursuit of a four-year degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field. 
• You cannot hold a bachelor's degree already in any field. 
• You must be willing to actively participate in the services and activities MESA offers to guarantee your academic success.
