Study Abroad Eligibility
Requirements
In order to participate in a study abroad program, you must:
- Have completed 12 credits of college-level courses at WVC
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.50 or higher
- Have a valid passport to travel outside of the U.S.A.
- Meet the age requirement of the program (most programs are open to students 17 years or older at the start of the program, but some programs require students to be 18 years old to participate)
Recommendations
We ask students to disclose any need for accommodation (physical, psychological, and/or academic). Please work with WVC's Student Access Coordinator to arrange accommodations.
Academic Expectations
Signing up to participate in a study abroad program means you plan to study while living abroad. While we hope you take advantage of your international experience and have fun, please keep in mind that the programs are academic. All students participating in a quarter-long study abroad program are required to take 15 credits. We expect you to attend classes, do homework and take tests. All grades are reported to the WVC Registrar and calculated into your overall GPA, whether they count toward graduation or not. Students studying abroad are still held to the WVC Student Code of Conduct (explained in the WVC Student Handbook).
