Distance Learning Support
Learning from home can be a bit of a transition. Here are some recommendations to make things more workable.
Equipment and Software - A Good Basic Setup Includes:
- Computer
- Monitor
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- Webcam w/microphone
- Headphones or speakers
- (or) Laptop – Most laptops have built-in speakers, camera, and microphone (the following
items are recommended for better productivity)
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- Large Monitor
- Software Minimum

- This includes Office Online and the installation files to download Office on personal devices (tablets, laptops, computers).
- TEAMS: Available on Microsoft Suite of Products at https://portal.office.com

Everyone at WVC has access to TEAMS - a Microsoft product. Login with your network credentials; all of our Microsoft products are sync'd to our network credentials.
In the upper right corner of your TEAMS app, you will see three dots to indicate "more actions." Click that to schedule a new meeting. Scheduling meetings in your Outlook calendar also allows you to schedule a TEAMS meeting. You can also "Join" a meeting from your Outlook calendar invite.
TEAMS functions very much like Zoom, only the controls are at the top instead of the bottom.

Free Office365 Apps for Students!
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are available for free to WVC students! This includes Office Online and the installation fives to download Office on up to five personal devices. You can use the web version on any device. Use your network access credentials to login to Office 365.
